Body found outside Motherwell's Braidhurst High School

A body has been found outside a school in Motherwell, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to the scene on the grounds of Braidhurst High School shortly before 6am on Monday after report of concern for a person.

A 33-year-old man was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.

Police say they are currently treating the death as unexplained, but there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.55am on Monday, 18 January, we received the report of concern for a man outside a premises on Dalriada Crescent in Motherwell.

“Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General Hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service where he was pronounced dead.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

“As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
