Man's body found on Welsh beach by person walking there

An investigation is underway after the body of a man was found on a Welsh beach. A member of the public made the discovery on Monday afternoon at a beach in Llansantffraid, near the village of Llanon in Ceredigion.

Police were at the scene on Monday but have thus far not confirmed the identity or age of the deceased.

However, enquiries are now ongoing to identify the body and establish a cause of death, and police did confirm on Wednesday that the body is that of a male.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We were called by a member of public who had found a body on Llansantffraid Beach, Llannon, Ceredigion, at around 1.20pm on Monday, January 25.

“Anyone who has information is asked to contact DS 481 at Ceredigion CID, quoting reference DPP/0070/25/01/2021/01/U. This can be done either online, by e-mailing 101@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk, or by calling 101.”
