Police were called to Menston train station to the north east of Leeds after a body was found on the tracks.
The discovery was made at 9.21am this morning (Friday) following reports of a 'casualty on the tracks'.
Paramedicas attended soon after and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
