Detectives probing the death of a man whose body was found on a Scots beach have identified him.
A passer-by raised the alarm after making the grim discovery at around 10.15am on Wednesday November 14 near to Longniddry Golf Club in East Lothian.
Cops immediately launched an investigation to try and identify the man and appealed for the public's help.
Officers confirmed this afternoon the the body is that of a 79-year-old from the local area.
A Police Scotland statement read: "The media and members of the public are thanked for their assistance with this matter.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
