Body found on coastline in search for missing man Craig McKay

A body has been found in the search for missing Scots man Craig McKay.

Police confirmed the body of a man was discovered on the coastline near Crawton, Aberdeenshire, around 9.30am today.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, the family of 38-year-old Craig McKay have been made aware of the discovery.

Craig was reported missing from Stonehaven and was last seen leaving an address in Dumfries around 7.30am on Sunday as concerns were growing for his welfare

A Police Scotland statement said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man was found on the coastline near Crawton, Aberdeenshire around 9.30am on Monday, 4 October, 2021.

"The family of Craig McKay (38), missing from Stonehaven since Sunday, 3 October have been made aware of the discovery.

"Formal identification is yet to take place and the death is not being treated as suspicious."
