A man's body has been found near train tracks in Co Dublin this morning.
An investigation has been launched after the discovery was made in the Drumcondra area of the city earlier today.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí can confirm that a male body (age unknown) has been recovered on the railway line in Drumcondra this morning Friday September 6, 2019 at approximately 8.40am
"The body of deceased has been removed to the city morgue where a post mortem will take place, in due course.
"The investigation into this sudden death will be determine by the results of the post mortem.
"Investigations ongoing."
Journalist Kitty Holland shared a picture of the scene, and revealed that the body is believed to be that of a homeless person.
She wrote on Twitter: "Harrowing scene. Body found by railway tracks in Drumcondra this morning.

"Found in a blue sleeping bag. Thought to be homeless person."
An Irish Rail spokesman wrote on Twitter: "Gardaí attending incident on the line in vicinity of Drumcondra.
"Expect Docklands services to be diverted into Connolly for the remainder of the morning.
"Delays to all services through Connolly as a result."
