A body found near cliffs in Aberdeenshire has been formally identified as missing man William Hay.
Police discovered a body by the cliffs near Macduff, Banff, at 11.15am on Monday.
The family of missing 35-year-old have been informed.
William was last spotted leaving a taxi after it had been involved in a minor crash at around 3.10am on Sunday, December 8.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm the body of a man found by the cliffs near Macduff, Banff, at 11.15am yesterday has now been formally identified as missing person William Hay.
The 35-year-old's death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
