A body has been found in the search for a missing Scot George Critch.
Cops found the body of a man near to Great Glen Way in Craig Phadrig Woods, Inverness around 7pm last night, Wednesday, July 7.
The 63-year-old suddenly disappeared from Inverness last month leaving his family "extremely distressed".
A massive search was stepped up to find the missing man with specialist resources including helicopters, dog units, and local mountain rescue teams.
Formal identification is still to place but George's family has been informed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm the body of a man was found near to Great Glen Way within Craig Phadrig Woods, Inverness, around 7pm on Wednesday, 7 July, 2021.
"Formal identification has still to take place, however the family of George Critch, 63, who had been reported missing from the Kinmylies area of Inverness on Wednesday, 9 June, 2021, have been informed.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
