Body found in search for teenager who went missing after rave

The body of a teenager who went missing after a rave has been found, police said.

Frantisek Morris, known as Frankie, was last seen pushing his bike near the Vaynol Arms in Pentir, near Bangor, North Wales at 1.12pm on Sunday May 2.

The 18-year-old attended a party in Waunfawr, near Snowdonia National Park, the night before his disappearance and North Wales Police had appealed for anyone who attended the rave to come forward.

A force spokesman said a body had been discovered in dense woodland near Caerhun, on the outskirts of Bangor, on Thursday afternoon.

The coroner had been informed but no formal identification had taken place, police said.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Friday and Mr Morris’s family has been informed.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said: "Our deepest, heartfelt sympathies go to Frankie’s family and friends at this very difficult time."

Last month, officers investigating the case arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and a man and a woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, but they were later released and eliminated from the inquiry.

Last week, Mr Morris’s mother said she was “terrified” that someone had hurt her son.

Speaking at a press conference, Alice Morris said: "Frankie has now been missing for 27 days. It’s totally out of character for him to be away for any length of time without contacting somebody.

"I’m terrified that someone has harmed my beautiful son but realise that after such a long time, there is a possibility that he is no longer alive.”
