A BODY has been found amid the search for a missing Scottish woman.
Norma Sinclair, 71, was last seen at around 5.55pm on January 7 in the Victoria Terrace area of Dunfermline.
In an appeal to trace her on Wednesday morning, police said they were “growing increasingly worried” given that she had been missing overnight in extremely cold weather.
On Thursday morning, a body was found near Townhill Loch, which is in Dunfermline and not far from where Sinclair was last seen.
Officers were made aware of the discovery at around 11.30am on January 9.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, police said that Sinclair’s family had been informed.
The death is not believed to be suspicious, officers said, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police Scotland added: “We thank the public and partner agencies for their assistance in the search for Norma.”
