POLICE have discovered a body in the search for a Scottish man missing for more than a week.
Jonathan Parsons – also known as Jay – was reported missing from Huntly, in Aberdeenshire, after last being seen in the town’s Yule Square at around 7.15am on Thursday, July 3.
The 40-year-old’s car was discovered at the Battle Hill car park, outside Huntly, on Monday July 7.
Police were carrying out searches in the area, and around 9.30pm on Friday a body was found near to Kinnoir Woods.
Police said that formal identification has still to take place, however the family of Parsons has been informed.
Officers said: “The death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“We thank the public for their assistance in the search for Jay while it was ongoing.”
