Body found in search for missing Scots woman Cassandra MacDonald

A body has been found in the search for missing Scots woman Cassandra MacDonald.

Police launched a search for the 50-year-old yesterday after she was last seen at around 6.30am at a property in Columba Road in the the Dalneigh area of Inverness.

Cops have tragically announced that a body has been found at the beach in North Kessock.

A woman was pronounced dead at the scene and Cassandra's family have been told of the find.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Sergeant Cameron Ross of Highlands and Islands police division said: “Although formal identification is still to take place, she is believed to be 50-year-old Cassandra MacDonald who had been reported missing from her home in Inverness and her family has been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
