A body has been found in the search for missing grandfather William Thom, cops have confirmed.
The grim discovery was made near Wallacewell Road in Glasgow at around 9.15am this morning.
Dementia sufferer William, 83, vanished from his home in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, last Wednesday.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said William's family have been made aware of the discovery.
She added: "Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem will carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
