Body found in search for missing 'one of a kind' Scots pensioner

A body has been found in the search for missing Scots pensioner Ronald Kemp.

Tributes are pouring in for 'one of a kind' Ronald who was tragically found dead by officers in a rural location on Wednesday night.

The cyclist, aged 75, was reported missing from Lhanbryde, near Elgin in Moray on Monday.

Ronald, known as Ronnie, was last seen at 10am on April 12 in the Neil's View, in the village.

He had a blue electric bike with him at the the time and two saddle bags.

Police soon launched a huge search for Ronald who was known to visit the Lhanbryde and Elgin areas.

On Thursday morning police confirmed that a body had been found in a rural location off Calcots Road in Elgin on Wednesday.

The discovery was made at around 9.20pm.

Devastated loved ones took to social media to praise Ronald as 'superman' and a 'friendly face'.

One wrote: "Such sad news thinking of all. RIP Ronnie you were a superman."

Another added: "RIP Ronnie. "You sure were one of a kind."

A third commented: "Terrible news.

"Thoughts are with Ronnie's family. Really nice man."

Another posted: "Poor Ronnie, thoughts go to the family.

"We'll all miss seeing him, a friendly face."

Officers said that Ronald's family had been informed and thanked members of the public who helped with the search.

A North East Police Division spokesperson said: "Following appeals in relation to the missing person Ronald Kemp, 75, who was reported missing from the Lhanbryde area.

"Police can now confirm that around 9.20pm on April 14 the body of a deceased male was found in a rural location off of Calcots Road, Elgin.

"Ronald's family have been informed.

"The public are thanked for their assistance with the enquiry."
