Police searching for missing Scots dad Ross Taylor have found a body.
A major search was launched for the 30-year-old after he went missing from his house in Mayfield, Midlothian at noon on Sunday.
But officers conducting a search in a wooded area near to Crighton Castle in Pathhead have found a body.
Formal identification has yet to take place, however the family of Ross Taylor have been informed.
Specialists from Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue and the search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick had been deployed. A drone and search dogs also formed part of the hunt.
Ross’ partner Laura D’Arcy made an emotional appeal to try and trace the man - whose six-month-old baby is recovering from open heart surgery.
On Wednesday she said: "If Ross can somehow hear this, we love you and miss you so much and we need you back safe.
"Please just come back to us. You know how much Lewis needs you."
And on Thursday police released CCTV of the dad spotted in a nearby village.
Ross' son Lewis underwent surgery in January after being born with defects to his heart. He still needs regular checks in hospital as his recovery continues.
Police said his son's health problems have been "traumatic" for Ross, who left home with no cash or phone.
Ross, a meter reader for electricity firm SSE, lives with Laura, Lewis and his two step-children, Liam, eight, and Jessica, six, in Mayfield, Midlothian.
