Body found in search for missing man in Tramore, Co Waterford

A body has been found by Gardai after a search for a missing man in Tramore, Co Waterford.

A land, air and sea search operation had been ongoing since Sunday night but was stood down around lunchtime when the body of a male was found.

The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was found in the Newtown Cove area.

Gardai confirmed they are investigating the death but it is believed to be a tragic incident.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attended an incident in the Tramore area today, Monday 18th April 2020 at approximately 12:30pm where the body of a male was discovered. The body has since been removed to hospital for post mortem."
