Body found in search for missing Glasgow woman Sophie Johnston

A body has been found in a search for missing Glasgow woman Sophie Johnston.

Sophie, 35, was last seen in the Partick area of the west end at around 8.30am on November 21.

Police have now confirmed the tragic discovery made near Baldernock Crescent in Milngavie at around 10.15am this morning. They stated there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A formal identification process is yet to take place but Sophie's family has been informed of the discovery.

A statement from Police Scotland reads: "Around 10.15am on Tuesday, 22 November, the body of a woman was found in an area near Baldernock Crescent, Milngavie.

"Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of 35-year-old Sophie Johnston has been informed.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
