Body found in search for missing Fife man Steven Squire

A body has been found in the search for missing Fife man Steven Squire.

Police have confirmed they discovered a male body in the outskirts of Perth today.

Formal identification has still has to take place but police say Steven's family have been aware of the tragic find after he went missing on Tuesday.

The Army veteran – who served with the Royal Engineers – had been reported missing from the Glenrothes area sparking frantic searches to find him.

Friends later claimed his car was found at a hotel 23 miles away.

He was last spotted outside his home at around 6pm on Sunday night.

The 33-year-old was believed to have travelled to the Broxden area of Perth where his car was recovered at a Travelodge on Wednesday.

Pals had made desperate social media appeals for Steven to return home.

Reacting to the news that a body had been found Steven's heartbroken sister Chantel Squire posted on Facebook saying: "Thanks to everyone who took the time to share to try find my brother, devestated."
