Body found in search for missing East Kilbride man Ryan Coleman

Police have recovered a body amid the search for missing East Kilbride man .

The 20-year-old was last seen at his home in Rydal Grove, Greenhills, around 2pm on Friday afternoon.

However cops have confirmed they have recovered a body in a wooded area near to the town's Langlands Road around 5pm on Tuesday July 2.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but Ryan's family have been informed.

Officers are not treating the death as suspicious and a report is to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

It comes after his heartbroken family issued an emotional appeal for information on his whereabouts earlier today.

A social media campaign had also been launched in a bid to trace the youngster, with his disappearance being described as "extremely out of character".

Posting on Facebook , Stacey McCabe wrote: "Ryan Coleman is missing.

"He's not been seen since Friday morning and his family are becoming increasingly worried.

"Please all share get Ryan home safe."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 5pm, on Tuesday 2 July a body of a man was found within a wooded area near to Langlands Road in East Kilbride.

"Formal identification is still to take place, however the family of Ryan Coleman has been informed.

"There is not believed to be suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
