Body found in search for missing Dundee man Michael Winter

A body has been found in the search for a man who went missing from Dundee a week ago.

Officers from Police Scotland announced that a body had been discovered off the coast at Invergowrie in Tayside this morning, September 2.

Michael Winter's family have been informed of the find, however formal identification is yet to take place.

The 29-year-old, who also had links to Edinburgh, vanished on Wednesday, August 26, sparking a frantic search.

A Police Scotland statement read: "We can confirm that earlier this morning (2 Sept) the body of a man was found off the coast at Invergowrie.

"Formal ID has yet to take place however the family of Michael Winter(29) reported missing from Dundee on 26 Aug has been informed."
