Body found during search for missing chef Jonathon Donaldson in West Lothian

A body has been found during the search for Jonathon Donaldson, who has been missing since leaving work in West Lothian almost a week ago.

The 26-year-old chef disappeared after leaving the Oatridge Hotel in Uphall on Monday, November 11.

He was last seen near the post office in Whitburn that evening after taking a number 600 bus.

On Saturday, a wide-ranging search was organised for Johny, involving members of his family, neighbours and the police helicopter.

His family said the disappearance was "heartbreaking" and they urged anyone who may have seen him to come forward.

On Sunday, Police Scotland confirmed a body had been found and his family had been notified.

The force said: "Formal identification has yet to take place, but Jonathon’s family have been made aware.

"The public are thanked for their assistance during the search."
