Body found in search for missing 14-year-old girl in Keighley, West Yorkshire

A body has been found in the search for a missing 14-year-old girl.

Kekshan Rashid did not return from school yesterday afternoon and was last seen at 1.50pm.

Police described her behaviour as "completely out of character".

West Yorkshire Police have now informed the family that a body has been found.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police searching for a missing girl have found a body in the Keighley area.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances to the incident.

"The family of Kekshan Rashid, 14, have been informed."

Police earlier today made an urgent appeal to help trace the missing Keighley girl.

Kekshan was last seen yesterday afternoon - Wednesday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said earlier today: "Her behaviour is completely out of character."

She failed to return from Holy Family School on Spring Gardens Lane, Keighley, yesterday and was last seen at the school at 1.50pm.

Officers were appealing for anyone who saw her to contact police immediately, before this afternoon's tragic update.

She was described as 5ft 4 tall, with brown eyes and when last seen was wearing navy trousers, and a navy PE shirt (the PE uniform of the school). Her medium length hair was in pigtail plaits.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell of Bradford District Police, said the force was "urgently doing all we can to find her safe and well."

He added that they did not know where she was and were "very concerned for her welfare."
