Body found in search for climber swept away by avalanche on Scots mountain

A body has been found in the search for a mountain climber who went missing after an avalanche in the Highlands.

Andrew Vine was last spotted on the west face of Aonach Mor near Fort William at around 1pm on February 28.

The 41-year-old’s climbing partner was found seriously injured a short time later after he was carried ‘several hundred metres’ by the avalanche.

Police have now confirmed that rescue officials have discovered a body amid a large search operation for the missing climber.
