Body found in sea during search for missing 21-year-old man

A body has been found in the sea during the search for 21-year-old Billy Miller, from Fishguard.

A body of a male was found in the sea at Pendine beach, Carmarthenshire, late on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after police released CCTV images showing Mr Miller's final movements.

Following extensive enquiries in Tenby, officers from Dyfed-Powys Police said the last confirmed sighting of Mr Miller at 2.20am on Sunday, June 21, was walking along Bridge Street towards the harbour.

Dyfed-Powys Police had been searching for Mr Miller since he was reported missing on Saturday. Over four days, both Tenby lifeboats were launched to search the shoreline and harbour and HM Coastguard Tenby and St Govans Coastguard Rescue Teams searched the cliffs with help from the police dog team.

Officers also released CCTV footage of Billy in Sainsbury's in Tenby, taken between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on Saturday, June 20.

A spokesman for the police force said: “Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that a body of a male was found in the sea at Pendine beach late yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, June 23, during the search for Billy Miller who had been reported missing.

"Formal identification has not yet taken place, however Billy’s family have been informed of this development. Our thoughts remain with the family at this time."
