A body found in a river in Ullapool in the Highlands has been named as missing Leicestershire man Philip Hearn.
E mergency services raced to the scene at Morefield River in the Highlands village around 1.10pm last Thursday, August 5.
Police, air ambulance and the local mountain rescue all attended and recovered the body of a man from the water.
Now, Leicestershire Police have confirmed that the body has been formally identified as missing man Philip Hearn.
Mr Hearn was last seen at his home in the Rowlatts Hill area of Leicester at about 8am on Monday, July 19, which is about 400 miles away from Morefield River.
Police in the region launched an appeal to trace him two days later.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, with a report being submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A statement from Leicestershire Police said: "A man reported missing in Leicestershire has been found deceased.
" Police Scotland attended a report at 1pm on Thursday 5 August in relation to a body being found in the Morefield River, Ullapool.
"It has been confirmed that the body is Philip Hearn, 27, who was reported missing from the Rowlatts Hill area of Leicestershire in July.
"Mr Hearn’s next of kin have been informed.
"Mr Hearn’s cause of death is not believed to be suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
"Officers would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal to try and find Mr Hearn and everyone who provided information."
