Body found in Scots house as police probe 'unexplained' death

The body of a man has been found in house in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency crews scrambled to a property in Cairneymount Road, Carluke on Wednesday.

The alarm was raised at around 2.30pm.

Police made the grim discovery inside the house upon arrival.

The body was that of a 65-year-old man.

Officers are treating the death as unexplained.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of the sudden death of a 65-year-old man within a property on Cairneymount Road in Carluke at around 2.30pm on Wednesday.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
