A body has been found in the search for a missing Caithness man.
Police Scotland have confirmed Robert Gunn was tragically discovered in the River Thurso in Halkirk around 8.30am on Sunday morning.
A major search operation had been launched in the area for Robert after he vanished around 6pm on Saturday.
Police helicopters had been out during the early hours of the morning.
Residents in the area had been asked to check sheds and outbuildings in a bid to find him.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A Police Scotland statement reads: "A body was discovered in the River Thurso in Halkirk around 8.30am this morning. (Sun 8 Nov 2020). It has sadly been confirmed as missing man Robert Gunn. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."
