Body found in River Kelvin in search for Gregor Gibbons

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Kelvin in the search for missing person Gregor Gibbons.

At around 11am, the body was found in the river in the vicinity of Dullatur Bridge.

Police Scotland have been searching for Gregor Gibbons, 32, since Tuesday, July 2 when he was reported missing from Springburn.

Formal identification has yet to take place, however, his family have been informed.

Earlier today, officers confirmed the recovery of personal items belonging to Gregor. Late last night, a family-arranged search was called off, at the request of officers, after items had been found in the police search.

A post-mortem will take place to establish his cause of death, which is currently being treated as being unexplained.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
