Body found in River Irwell in search for missing Salford woman

A body has been found in the search for a missing Salford woman.

Malgorzata Swiatlon was last seen on South Radford Street in Lower Kersal at around 1pm on Monday (June 14).

Police launched an urgent appeal to help find the missing 37-year-old and asked anyone with information to contact them.

But sadly a body was recovered from the River Irwell near Lower Broughton Road today on Wednesday (June 16).

Officers believe it to be that of Ms Swiatlon.

Her family have been informed and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A file has since been passed to the coroner.

In a statement, GMP said: “Police looking for a missing woman from Salford have sadly found a body believed to be that of Malgorzata Swiatlon, 37.

“Her next of kin has been informed.

“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances around her death a file has been passed to the coroner.”
