Body found in river in search for missing Cork man Andrew Willis

Gardai have confirmed that the body of a male was found in River Owenabue on Monday evening.

The search for Andrew Willis, 36, has been taking place ever since the Bandon man went missing last week.

Andrew was last seen in the Coolmore area of Carrigaline in the early hours of last Tuesday, 18 June, Cork Beo reports.

On Monday, Gardai appealed to the public for assistance as concern grew over Andrew.

Later that day, a body was recovered from the River Owenabue, which flows into Cork Harbour near Crosshaven.

The body has yet to be officially identified. No foul play is suspected.
