Body found in River Clyde in search for missing John Bowman

A body has been found in the search for missing man John Bowman.

We told how the 50-year-old from Shettleston, Glasgow, had not made contact with friends or family since 8.15pm on Thursday, January 30.

The last sighting of John was on Torphin Crescent, where he was wearing a grey knee length dressing gown, sparking a major police search.

Officers confirmed the body of a man was found in the King George V Docks area of the River Clyde, at around 9.25am on Thursday.

Formal identification is still to take place but John's family  have been informed.


A statement from Police Scotland said: "Police Scotland can confirm the body of a man was found in the King George V Docks area of the River Clyde around 9.25am on Thursday, March 12.

"Formal identification is still to take place but the family of John Bowman, who was last seen on Torphin Crescent in Glasgow on Thursday,  January 30, have been informed.

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing."
