Body found in River Clyde at Cuningar Loop

The body of a man was found in the River Clyde at Cuningar Loop last Saturday.

Police had received a report of a man being seen removing his clothes before entering the water at 9.30pm the previous night.

Officers attended and found the clothes but no sign of the man.

A search was carried out and the body of a 23-year-old was found in the water on Saturday.

Police confirmed the man’s family have been made aware and that a sudden death report had been submitted awaiting a post mortem.

Inspector Stephen McManus said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a 23-year-old man was recovered from the River Clyde on Saturday, July 18.

“The death is being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem, but there are no suspicious circumstances.

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
