An urgent search was carried out after the 17-year-old from Holmes Chapel, Cheshire was reported missing after failing to return home on Tuesday.

Inspector Mike Crimes previously said: “This is totally out of character for her and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare."

Imogen's next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.

Officers from Cheshire Police said her death is not believed to be suspicious and a case file will now be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police added: "Our thoughts are with Imogen's family at this difficult time."
