Body found in park in Blackrock Park, Dublin as DART services suspended

A body has been found in a park in south Dublin this morning.

DART services have been suspended between Dun Laoghaire and Lansdowne Road after the remains were discovered.

Gardai and several units from Dublin Fire Brigade raced to the scene of the grim discovery in Blackrock Park, Booterstown shorty after 7am this morning.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live the results of a postmortem would determine the course of their investgation.

She said: "Gardai are currently at scene following the discovery of a body in Blackrock Park, Dublin this morning 17th September 2020.

"The body remains at scene and will be removed for post mortem examination at a later date, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation. No further information available at this time."

Dublin Bus are accepting rail tickets during the DART suspension and traffic is extremely heavy in surrounding areas, according to AA Roadwatch.
