Body found in Paisley river in search for missing dad Evan Reid

A body has been found in the search for missing man Evan Reid, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to White Cart Water near Arran Avenue in Paisley at 9.55am on Monday morning where a man's body was discovered.

Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of Evan Reid has been made aware.

The 31-year-old from Irvine disappeared on March 25 after disembarking from a train at Paisley Gilmour Street.

The dad-of-one had been making his way home from a day out in Glasgow when he unexpectedly exited the train around 10pm. He was last seen on Inchinnan Road where he was picked up on CCTV.

Police have said there are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The body of a man was found in the White Cart Water near Arran Avenue in Paisley around 9.55am on Monday, 10 April.

"He is still to be formally identified but the family of Evan Reid, 31, who had been reported missing on Friday, 25 March have been made aware.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
