The body found in Leigh Woods is believed to be that of a 22-year-old woman from Bristol.
The young woman's body was discovered at 8.20pm on Wednesday (April 21).
Emergency services, including a police helicopter, fire and ambulance crews, were called to the scene near Bristol.
While formal identification is yet to take place, the woman's next of kin have been informed.
Avon and Somerset Police said they do not think the death is suspicious.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: "While formal identification has yet to take place, officers making enquiries following the discovery of a woman's body at Leigh Woods have notified the next of kin of a 22-year-old woman from Bristol.
"The death is not believed to be suspicious and officers will prepare a report for the coroner."
Officers went to the scene on Wednesday night after a call was made.
Police, fire and ambulance crews and the National Police Air Service found the body of the woman after arriving on scene.
