Body found in house as police launch probe

Police are probing the 'sudden and unexplained' death of a man in Kirkby .

Forensics investigators are examining the scene on Britonside Avenue after being called at 2.15am today.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said the incident involves the "sudden and unexplained" death of a 59-year-old man.

The force is not currently treating the death as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.

A scientific support van and another police vehicle remain at the scene.
