A body was found floating in the Chicago River Saturday afternoon in the same the Southwest Side area where a recreational boat sank Wednesday, leaving at least two people dead and two people missing.
The body was spotted about 2:15 p.m. near the 3800 block of South Pulaski Road, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Authorities have not confirmed whether it’s the remains of one of the four men who were aboard the 26-foot boat that sank early Wednesday in the same area.
Another body, a male in his 20s, was pulled from near that location on Friday. His identity has not been released.
The first person to be recovered, Elmer Jimenez, 32, was found floating in the river Wednesday in suburban Forest View, about four miles downstream.
The Chicago police Marine Unit pulled the empty boat from the river Wednesday morning. According to Illinois Conservation Police Sgt. Joshua Mooi, the boat likely sank after crashing into a barge or bridge.
Police could not immediately provide more details Saturday.
