The body of a missing man was discovered by police divers after a search of a canal.
The man's body was discovered on Bank Holiday Monday in the canal on Telfords Quay in Ellesmere Port .
A day prior to the body being found a 53-year-old man had been reported missing from the town.
Officers, including the Under Water Search Unit, had been carrying out searches in and around the canal and the body was found in the water, a spokesman for Cheshire Police said today.
Police confirmed the body is believed to be that of a 53-year-old local man reported missing on the Sunday.
A Cheshire Police spokesman told the ECHO : "The body is believed to be that of a 53-year-old local man and his next of kin have been informed.
"It is believed there are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
