THE body of a man has been found during searches for a missing hillwalker in Glen Shiel.
He is yet to be formally identified, however the family of Richard Dawson, 61, who had been reported missing in the area on Saturday, July 26, has been informed.
Richard’s car had been found in Glen Shiel and enquiries suggest he intended walking the Five Sisters range. He had booked hotel accommodation but did not arrive.
The body was found in an area below the ridge of the Five Sisters of Kintail around 4pm on Monday.
HM Coastguard helicopter and Kintail Mountain Rescue Team worked together to locate and recover the body.
There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
