Body found by police dive team during search for missing man Kevin Lynch

A body has been found by a police dive team during a search for missing man Kevin Lynch.

Police had been carrying out a search in the Cumberland Basin and discovered the body shortly after 9am this morning (January 10).

The family of Mr Lynch, who has been missing since December 23, have been notified.

Avon and Somerset Police said formal ID of the body still has to be carried out.

The search has now been called off but the police will continue to make enquiries on behalf of the coroner who has been notified.

A police spokesman said: "We would like to thank members of the public for their support and assistance during the search for Mr Lynch."
