The PSNI is investigating after a body was found in the River Lagan on Monday.
A woman's body was recovered from waters at Shaw's Bridge on Monday afternoon.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A PSNI spokesman said: "Police are investigating the sudden death of a woman whose body was found in a river in the Shaw’s Bridge area of Belfast on Monday 16th September.
"A post mortem is due to be carried out and at this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious."
