Body found at Scots country house in search for missing man

A body has been found during a police search for missing Scots man Brian Loy who vanished earlier this week.

The 50-year-old vanished from Glenshamrock Drive in the village of Auchinleck, East Ayrshire at around 7.40pm on Wednesday, August 10. Officers appealed for information after Brian's family and friends became increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Police today confirmed the body of a man was found on the grounds of country park Dumfries House on Saturday, August 13. Brian's family have been informed.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 1.30pm on Saturday, 13, August, 2022 the body of a man was found within the grounds of Dumfries House.

"The family of missing man Brian Loy have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
