The body of a 51-year-old man was found at a construction site in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

About 12:55 p.m., someone at the site in the 3300 block of South California Avenue found David Novak with a gunshot wound to the back of his head, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. He lived in Tinley Park.

An autopsy conducted by the medical examiner’s office Saturday ruled his death a homicide by gunshot wound to the head.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
