Body found amid major search for man missing from Scottish town

A BODY has been found in the search for a missing Scots man.

Robert Blair was last seen at around 12.30pm on Monday, October 7, and his disappearance sparked a major search involving police and mountain rescue teams.

On Wednesday afternoon at around 12.25pm, officers were alerted to the discovery of a man’s body in a wooded area in the Mayfield area of Dalkeith.

Police said that although formal identification has still to take place, they “believe it to be 67-year-old Robert Blair who was missing from Dalkeith”.

Officers are liaising with the 67-year-old’s family.

Police further said that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
