Body found amid desperate police search for missing woman, 24, at nature reserve

A body has been found at a nature reserve amid a desperate police search for a missing woman.

Bethany Edwards, 24, was reported as having disappeared by her family earlier this week.

Bedfordshire Police subsequently launched a search and asked for the public's help to find her.

But the force tragically confirmed today that a body was found at a nature reserve in Sharpenhoe, Bedfordshire on Friday.

A formal identification is yet to take place but Bethany's family have been informed, police said.

It is not yet clear if the death is being treated as suspicious, reports Bedfordshire Live.

The body was found at the National Trust site just hours after police launched their search.

Ms Edwards, who police said was 5ft 6ins in their earlier appeal, was said to have had links to Bedfordshire and Northampton.

Police said they were concerned for her welfare when they launched their appeal and asked anyone with information to get in touch.
