Body confident Ella's message for trolls who say 'you have a pretty face for a fat girl'

A body confident plus size TikTok star is taking on the trolls who made cruel comments about her weight online.

Ella Donnelly says she is tired of hearing how she has 'such a pretty face for a fat girl' and so has hit back with a clever response.

"And you have such a ugly personality for a pretty girl," the content creator from Blackpool says, flipping the comment on its head.

Ella has over 277,200 followers on the social media platform, (@elladonnelly_xo) where she regularly shares body-positive messages.

However, Ella claims she also receives vile comments about her weight and has decided to speak out in a number of videos posted to her account.

In one of the clips shared recently, Ella reveals one of the most common phrases people utter about her weight.

"I beg people stop telling me that I have a pretty face for a fat girl... what the hell is that even meant to mean?," Ella says, before responding to trolls in a different clip by adding "And you have such a ugly personality for a pretty girl."

The videos have received over 15,000 likes and over 136,000 views combined and the TikTokker has been inundated with comments.

"This! It’s such a backhanded compliment like, erm are you shocked? Just say I'm pretty and move on hahaha," one TikTok user wrote.

"Just leave it at pretty face if they can't say anything else," added someone else.

"You’re stunning! Do not listen to them haters out there! They can only say it behind a screen to make you look bad, They won't say it to your face!," added someone else.

However, Ella's clap-back videos were also targeted by fat-shaming trolls – with one person declaring: "You don't have a pretty face though."

"Yeah I know because it's absolutely gorgeous," she responded.

"The haters and trolls saying these comments usually do so over the internet – it’s never really in person," Ella said.

"People do say mean things to me in person but this specific hate comment is always online.

"The comments don’t affect me as I know they come from a place of jealousy or insecurity.

"I do sometimes comment back to hate comments with sarcasm or I just simply block them and remove the comment.

"I love myself and have worked on myself mentally to be able to love myself after all the bullying I went enough for years."

She added: "Self-love doesn’t mean I’m not aware of my body and how it can be or can’t be unhealthy.

"Being plus size doesn’t mean I’m not healthy the same way being thinner doesn’t always mean healthy.

"Everyone has their own story with their own body no one knows about.

"It’s important to know if it’s not your body and it’s not affecting you, you shouldn’t say anything.

"I hope in the future body positivity can help change everyone's perspective on everyone's body size.

"I hope it helps people welcome everyone, including people who have skin conditions, people with stretch marks, birthmarks and body hair."
