Body believed to be Nimbin camper found in bushland

A body found at Blue Knob Mountain in northern NSW is believed to be that of 38-year-old Nimbin man Damien Roadley.

Mr Roadley was reported missing by family members after he went camping overnight on August 1 and did not return.

Following a large-scale search, the body was found this morning at the south-west point of Blue Knob Mountain, according to police. It is yet to be formally identified.

The search involved officers from Richmond Police District, along with the State Emergency Service, the Dog Unit, Police Rescue Unit, Rural Fire Service, Westpac Helicopter, Volunteer Rescue Association and the Queensland Police Dog Squad.

A report is being prepared by officers for the coroner.
