Bodies of elderly couple found at house as detectives brand deaths 'unexplained'

The bodies of an elderly couple in their 80s have been discovered inside a house.

Detectives say they are treating their deaths as unexplained and enquiries are under way to establish the cause in Nuneaton, Warks.

Emergency services were called to an address in Bucks Hill yesterday afternoon where they made the discovery, reports CoventryLive.

Fire crews were called to the scene and a Warwickshire Police spokesperson said there were no signs of carbon monoxide at the property.

Detective Inspector Carl Buckley from Nuneaton Serious and Complex Crime Team said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the couple.

“At this time there are no obvious signs of any suspicious behaviour however we are keeping an open mind. A post-mortem is planned and this should help give us a better picture of what happened.

“There will be a high police presence in the area today as we work to piece together what has happened. I’d urge anyone who saw the couple in the last few days or has any information that could help us to get in touch.”

Anyone with information that could help police with their enquiries should call Warwickshire Police   on 101 quoting incident 235 of November 15.

Details can also be passed on by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
