Bobby Wagner returns to practice, could play on Sunday

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner was back on the field during Friday’s practice after missing time while he recovered from a medical procedure on his lower leg.

“Everything went perfect,” Wagner commented after practice. “I healed pretty fast.”

However, it is unclear if Wagner will suit up in Sunday’s preseason contest against the Vikings in Minnesota – even though most of the starters are expected to at least get a handful of reps.

“Well it would be good for Bobby to get a chance to get on the field,” coach Pete Carroll commented after practice. “We’ll see if we can get that done. It kind of depends on how the practices go and how his work goes. He would be better off if he could play some just to get going, just to get a feel.”

Wagner made it clear he feels ready to go, and that he wants to get back out there as soon as possible.

“Definitely want to get out there,” Wagner said. “We don’t get a chance to tackle at practice, so trying to get as many reps as I can. It’d be good to hit somebody other than my teammates.”

Whether Wagner is held out of Sunday’s game or plays a handful of snaps remains to be seen, but as long as he remains healthy he should see some time during the final two preseason games, and expects to be ready for the regular season.
